Rationale for change
There is no such thing as a cholesterol ester. It is a common misconception. Also its why CETP is called cholesteryl ester transfer protein (see first aid page 91)
example of correct use in a scholarly article (see how it can be referred to as either esterified cholesterol or cholesteryl ester (but not cholesterol ester):
