Gastrohepatic ligament AKA hepatogastric ligament

- Thus when giving a patient an adjustable gastric banding surgery, in order to encircle the cardia, the band must pass through the lesser omentum

- Lesser omentum extends from the fissure of the ligamentum venosum and porta hepatis to the lesser curvature of the stomach (hepatogastric ligament) and the start of the duodenum (hepatoduodenal ligament)
