Rationale for change

There are many bacteria that are capable of producing beta-lactamase, and therefore resistant to penicillin. Most of these bacteria are gram negatives. By narrowing the choices down to gram positive organisms, we can focus on memorizing the major gram positive that is resistant to penicillin....Staph aureus.
