Text
Intraductal papilloma of the breast typically presents as a(n) {{c1::bloody}} nipple discharge in a(n) {{c1::pre}}menopausal woman
Extra
- There may also be a small mass near the nipple; discharge is due to twisting of the vascular stalk of the papilloma in the duct
- Unilateral bloody discharge WITHOUT a coexisting breast mass or lymphadenopathy = intraductal papilloma
- Unilateral bloody nipple discharge WITH a firm, ill-defined breast mass ± skin retraction = invasive ductal carcinoma
