- Perform echocardiography at the time of diagnosis and 6 - 8 weeks later
- Dilated arteries are prone to thrombotic occlusion, which may cause myocardial ischemia and/or infarction
Risk for aneurysm increases with:
- Age < 1 or > 9 years
- Delay of treatment > 10 days or failure of IVIg treatment
- Recurrence of fever after 2 weeks
