- As the ventricle contracts, blood flows back through the tricuspid valve, causing an enlarged v wave
- The y descent is more prominent as a result of the enlarged v wave (has further to drop with more blood in the SVC)
- In some cases a fusion of C-V waves can occur (Lancisi Sign)
