Rationale for new note
Suggest Weber and Rinne test tag. Perhaps Neurology -> Ear -> General -> Rinne and Weber tests
Consider also an OSCE tag. Not sure where it would fit?
This completes Rinne and Weber test for Passmedicine. Will tick off.
Text
What is the normal result of a Rinne's test?
{{c1::Air conduction > bone conduction}}
{{c1::Air conduction > bone conduction}}
Text
What is the <u>normal result</u> of a <b>Rinne's test</b>?<br><br>{{c1::Air conduction > bone conduction}}
Extra
- ie the patient should be able to hear the tuning fork longer conducted via the air, than conducted via the mastoid process
- If bone conduction > air conduction, this suggests conductive hearing loss ("negative Rinne's test")
- Some practioners place the fork on the mastoid and then hold over the external meatus and say, "which is louder?"
