Wrong info in the card. THE FOLLOWING IS SUPPORTED BY UWORLD 3583. Quoting UpToDate in the Acute HIV infection Diagnosis page: “When the possibility of acute or early HIV infection is being considered, we perform the most sensitive diagnostic tests available, such as an HIV virologic (viral load) test. We favor using an RT-PCR-based viral load test, if available. We also send a combination antigen/antibody test in addition to an HIV virologic (viral load) test, as these tests, if negative in the context of a detectable HIV viral load, strongly suggest early HIV infection.” In UW 3583, the table shows that antigen test may be negative and viral load is markedly elevated. Please, delete the card referenced in a previous and still open suggestion in this card which shows a duplicate and resolves the conflicting information.
