- Nondisplaced, closed fractures → hanging-arm cast or coaptation splint / sling
- If displaced humerus fracture occurs alongside shoulder dislocation, that is a contraindication to closed reduction of the dislocation!
- Fat pad (sail sign) may be present, occult, nondisplaced fracture → place splint for immobilization
