Can we talk about this before it gets rejected again? It was inappropriate to reject instead of just commenting on it when you asked me a question. Had a UWorld question today(Q#3014) asking for specific organism that caused patients IE. Pt had tooth extraction one month ago was the key clue to the answer. Answer was specifically "Streptococcus sanguinis." Per UWorld, "Viridans streptococci, a group of commensal bacteria in the mouth and upper respiratory tract, are the most likely organisms to cause IE following dental manipulation (eg, tooth extraction) or respiratory mucosa penetration. This group includes Streptoccocus sanguinis, Streptococcus mitis, Streptococccus mutans, and Streptococcus milleri." Based on the currnet Anki card, people are taught to look for viridans, mitis, and mutans which were NOT an answer option. You asked if this was specific to "dental caries". My question is does it change the patients risk factors for IE if the question stem mentined "pt has cavities" vs. "pt had a tooth ext.
Other suggestion not denied
