Rationale for change

Class 1C anti-arrhythmic drugs do not have effects on the ERP of the AVN as it uses calcium for its phase 0 depolarization, not sodium channels. Some people may be confused by propafenone which has intrinsic class II activity which does effect the ERP of the AVN.

"Class IC sodium channel blockers exert negligible to no significant direct effect on the effective refractory period (ERP) of the AV node (AH interval and AV nodal ERP remain relatively unaltered compared to the His-Purkinje system/HV interval)."
