Rationale for change
Squamous cell carcinoma is not the most common tumor in male smokers. In male smokers, the most common primary lung tumor is adenocarcinoma of the lung. If someone has squamous cell carcinoma, they are much more likely to have been a male smoker, but overall male smokers are most likely to get adenocarcinoma as the manifestation of a primary lung cancer.
