- A Baker cyst (popliteal cyst) is a fluid-filled synovial swelling in the popliteal fossa
- Forms via synovial fluid distension of the gastrocnemio-semimembranosus bursa

A Baker cyst at the posterior medial of the knee with a communicating
tract to the knee joint via between the medial head of the
gastrocnemius and the semimembranosus tendons.
