Rationale for change

The terminology is now considered obsolete. The 2023 ACC/AHA/ACCP/HRS AF guidelines recommend abandoning the terms "valvular" and "nonvalvular" AF entirely, as they were confusing and only relevant to anticoagulant selection rather than AF etiology.
