- While decreased wheezing seems like a good thing, that is not the case here. The condition of this patient is deteriorating despite escalating treatments

- They are moving so little air in their lungs that wheezing is no longer audible = severe air trapping → "silent chest"

- In a severe asthma exacerbation, increased wheezing in response to treatment may indicate improvement in air movement and respiratory function
