Text
The catalytic rate constant of an enzyme, also known as the turnover number, is given by {{c1::kcat}}.
Extra
Kcat describes how many substrate molecules an enzyme can convert to product (“turn over”) per unit time. For this reason, kcat has units of reciprocal time (min-1, s-1).
