Rationale for change
Salmonella paratyphi, not typhi. It's mentioned in pathoma and the new sketchy videos (Image in Sketchy Extra cites NTS; Non-Typhi Salmonella). I think typhi is an error due to the old sketchy video which is corrected in the new video. Here's what Wikipedia page about Sickle cell disease (SCD) says:
"Osteomyelitis (bacterial bone infection), the most common cause of osteomyelitis in SCD is Salmonella (especially the atypical serotypes Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella choleraesuis, and Salmonella paratyphi B), followed by Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative enteric bacilli"
Amboss groups both typhi and paratyphi together. I have Kaplan book which also says paratyphi is what causes osteomyelitis.
