Rationale for change
Suramin and Melarsoprolol are no longer recommended for T. rhodesiense. WHO now recommends Fexinidazole for treatment of both early and late forms of T. rhodesiense due to the treacherous death rate of Melarsoprolol (this drug is basically liquid Arsenic!!!). I have attached the reference from Lancet journal on this update below.
