Rationale for change
Oral fluoroquinolones are not routinely used for the treatment of AOM, regardless of response to amoxicillin therapy; however, topical fluoroquinolone drops may be used for treatment of AOM or CSOM if the patient has tympanostomy tubes or a perforated TM.
