- Diagnosed by excisional biopsy including edge of the lesion
- Treated by wide local excision ± radiotherapy if high risk
- Therefore biopsy to rule out SCC (will show atypia that does NOT involve full thickness of the epidermis)
- Risk of carcinoma is proportional to the degree of epithelial dysplasia
