I believe this can also be social anxiety.
"Social Phobia" and "Social Anxiety Disorder" (SAD) are essentially the same thing; the name was officially changed in the DSM-IV to reflect that the fear is often broad rather than just a specific phobia. While people often use "social anxiety" to describe general shyness, the clinical diagnosis focuses on the persistent, intense fear of being scrutinized or negatively evaluated by others. The term "social anxiety" is now more common because it captures the pervasive, ongoing nature of the distress across various social settings.
