Yes, ACTH can stimulate aldosterone production, but it generally plays a much smaller, secondary role compared to Angiotensin II or potassium levels. While ACTH provides a necessary "tonic" signal that keeps the adrenal cortex healthy and responsive, it usually only causes a temporary increase in aldosterone secretion. The primary control system remains the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS), which specifically manages blood pressure and fluid balance.
