Rationale for change
Leukemias are not only limited to malignancies of immature cells, they can also be of mature leukocytes. Acute leukemias are proliferation of "blasts" (immature) (ALL, AML, APL, monocytic leukemia, megakaryoblastic leukemia, B-ALL, T-ALL) whereas chronic leukemia is characterized as proliferation of mature lymphocytes (CLL, Hair cell, Adult T, mycosis fungiodes)
-Pathoma
The sketchy tagged in this card only refers to the acute form of leukemia, not acknowledging the chronic form.
Lymphomas can also arise from immature cells as well, such as T-lymphoblastic lymphoma. Lymphoma should be defined as a neoplastic proliferation of lymphoid cells that form a mass, which can arise from lymphadenopathy, or enlarged lymph nodes.
