Rationale for change
Terms are not synonymous. cavernous hemangiomas are only referred to as hepatic angiomas when they are found in the liver, and nowhere else. For example, the NBME CMS Surgery Form 5 presents a 10-month-old boy with a "cavernous hemangioma" of the neck.
