In the khan academy video linked in this note, two aldol condensation examples are shown. The first shows creating an enal, the second shows creating an enone. This clearly demonstrates that both can be formed through aldol condensation

Aldol condensation involves 2 steps: first, aldol addition (producing an aldol) and then a dehydration, producing a conjugated enone (α,β-unsaturated carbonyl)
