This change reflects current ACC/AHA guidelines, which recommend moderate-intensity statins for all diabetes patients aged 40 to 75, regardless of their estimated 10-year ASCVD risk. High-intensity statins are reserved for patients with additional ASCVD risk factors or very high cardiovascular risk, rather than for all patients with diabetes and just a 10-year ASCVD risk >7.5%
