Spermatogonal phase --> spermatogonia divide to increase number
The first part of spermatogenesis (spermatogonia → primary spermatocytes) is called the spermatogoneal phase. The second part of spermatogenesis (spermatocyte → spermatid) is called the meiotic phase.
