Rationale for change
Infective endocarditis caused by Streptococcus mitis is classically associated with a subacute clinical course. This presentation is similar to that of Streptococcus sanguinis, rather than the rapid, fulminant onset seen in acute endocarditis caused by organisms like Staphylococcus aureus. I do not understand what this card is supposed to mean by mitis being "non subacute", I have linked studies below that support this.
