This card should be deleted. UWorld explanation explains that cholesterol synthesis does increase in the setting of bile acid resins, but due to the shunting toward bile acid synthesis there isn't an increased risk of cholesterol gallstones. Reportedly studies have also shown that bile acid resins do not increase cholesterol gallstone risk.
