Dopamine increases renal blood flow. Low dose dopamine does this. If dopamine levels are generally low, that would worsen blood flow

in healthy adult volunteers, the administration of a low dose dopamine increases renal blood flow and induces natriuresis and diuresis[116,117]. For these reasons, a low-dose dopamine represents a therapeutic option to limit or prevent renal failure in critically ill patients by increasing renal blood flow
