As it's written, seems to imply that the Factor V Leiden is a disorder of increased thrombin generation. This is not fully true. Yes, the end result is increased thrombin generation, but the primary defect (and what will be directly tested on) is that Factor V Leiden is a form of Factor V that is resistant to inactivation by protein C, leading to constitutive activity of Factor V -> ultimately, continued activation of thrombin via the common pathway.
