Rationale for change

Stanford Type B (DeBakey type Ill) is best managed by anti
hypertensive drugs. For patients with complicated type B dissec
tion, percutaneously placed endovascular stents are currently pref
erred. Surgery is reserved for the rare patients not suitable for
stenting.
