Text
Infant presents with ipsilateral head tilt and contralateral chin deviation with a neck mass that does not transilluminate on ultrasound
- Diagnosis? {{c1::Congenital muscular torticollis}}
- Treatment? {{c1::Stretching program (surgery at 1 year)}}
Extra

- Cause: the SCM is tight/contracted - this is a postural neck deformity
- Risk factors include fetal macrosomia, multiple gestation, oligohydramnios, breech presentation, and assisted vaginal delivery
- vs. cystic hygroma, which does transilluminate on ultrasound
