Intermediate step between citrate and isocitrate is included in Kaplan and UWorld. For some reason we have chosen to forego the inclusion of cis aconitate pretty much everywhere in the deck.
In QId: 401425 (4908855) the questions asks: Which of the following correctly describes the stereospecific formation of a citric acid cycle intermediate? and the answer is acotinase converts citrate into isocitrate through an intermediate.
I think some people would be lost on this given that we dont include this intermediate elsewhere in the deck, would be very easy lost points on an exam given that "cis" is literally in the name.
Im going to make one of my fancy/nice metabolism images in the future for this but dont have time today and wanted to make sure this change got out.
I'm just cleaning things up at this point. Lordy
