Rationale for change
It's important to distinguish that PTU blocks 5' deiodinase, not thyroid deiodinase. 5' deiodinase inhibits t4 -> t3 peripherally whereas thyroid deiodinase blocks the recycling of mit and dit to Iodide and tyrosine.
