Esophageal web
Endoscopy of the esophagus
A thin, semilunar membrane (esophageal web) projects into the esophageal lumen. In contrast to esophageal rings, webs usually occur in the upper esophagus and do not involve the muscle layer.
Along with iron deficiency anemia and dysphagia, cervical esophageal webs are part of the classic triad of findings in Plummer-Vinson syndrome.
