Rationale for new note
I got this question on UWorld today. QID 15103. I searched the deck for an existing card that addressed this but I didn't find any.
I also had a brain-fart when I wrote the card so if you do end up accepting it feel free to re-write it if need be lol
:)
Rejection reason
Think we can avoid this by tagging existing cards - for example, carbamazepine causes NTDs and lithium causes Ebstein anomaly, so the only remaining choice in that question that is a mood stabilizer or 2nd gen anti-psychotic is lamotrigine
Text
Which medication is used to prevent relapse in pregnant patients with bipolar disorder?
{{c1::Lamotrigine}}
{{c1::Lamotrigine}}
Text
Which medication is used to <u>prevent relapse</u> in <i><b>pregnant</b></i> patients with <b>bipolar disorder</b>?<br><br>{{c1::Lamotrigine}}
Extra
- Second line would be Atypical antipsychotics, specifically quetiapine or risperidone.
- Lithium is associated with Ebsteins anomaly
