Chron1c 1TP = < 100,000 for 1 year
- Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) AKA idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura is an autoimmune disorder causing isolated thrombocytopenia
- Primary ITP = idiopathic (most common)
- Secondary ITP = secondary to known cause (e.g., SLE, antiphospholipid syndrome, malignancy, HIV / HCV, certain medications)
- Persistent ITP = ITP that lasts 3–12 months
- Chronic ITP = ITP that lasts > 12 months
