Rationale for change
organification is the addition of I2 into MIT or DIT. oxidation of iodine is the production of I2 from I-
amboss- Oxidation of iodide (I- → I2)
Organification of the generated I2 by covalently linking it with the tyrosine residues present in TG.

Rejection reason
You're correct in your understanding of the difference between organification and oxidation, but I think you're misreading the card. The card is correct in its description of the Wolff-Chaikoff effect (inhibition of organification d/t too much iodine).

Extra
- Inhibition occurs via transient inhibition of thyroid peroxidase
Can be manipulated to protect the thyroid when:
- Patients undergo imaging involving I131 (give potassium iodine beforehand to inhibit the incorporation of further iodine in thyroid)
- Concern for nuclear emergency prophylaxis
