Rationale for change
The alteration in phrasing allows for the indication that the clozed portion is looking for a specific portion of the heart.
Without this specificity it's easy enough to think 'blood flows from the lungs to the heart' which is necessarily true, but not the specific response the cloze is attempting to invite.
This phrasing helps lead the reader to the understanding that it's looking for a specific portion of the heart to which blood returns from the lungs.
