- Confirm with renal and bladder ultrasound; if US abnormal, proceed with voiding cystourethrogram
- Manage with bladder drainage and electrolyte correction followed by cystoscopy to confirm the diagnosis and ablate the PUV
- Note: respiratory distress is secondary to pulmonary hypoplasia (impaired fetal urination → oligohydramnios → inadequate lung development)
