What is the likely diagnosis in a patient with elbow pain that worsens with resisted wrist extension and wrist passive flexion?
{{c1::Lateral epicondylitis ("tennis elbow")}}
{{c1::Lateral epicondylitis ("tennis elbow")}}
Extra
- Worsened by resisted wrist extension due to strain on the extensor carpi radialis brevis tendon
- Worsened by passive wrist flexion because it stretches the affected extensor tendons
- Due to non-inflammatory angiofibroblastic tendinosis at the common extensor origin (think of a backhand tennis shot = going to the lateral side)
