Rationale for change
The current card says HIV+ individuals require Pap smears twice during first year then annually therefter. The United States Department of Health and Human Services along with the National Institutes of Health instead suggest cervical cytology Q12 months for three years, then if all three consecutive cytology tests are normal, following up every three years.
