Rationale for change

This card is incorrect. Hearing adaptation would refer more to sensory adaptation. What is described here via contraction of the middle ear muscles is the acoustic/middle-ear-muscle reflex, which functions to protect the inner ear hair cells from damage, not the tympanic membrane.
