- Acute epididymitis in young sexually active men
- Both present with testicular pain however acute epididymitis symptoms include fever, pyuria, swollen testes, and a very tender cord unlike testicular torsion. Treated with antibiotics
- The possibility of missing a diagnosis of testicular torsion is so dreadful that sonogram is done to rule it out as testicular torsion is a urologic emergency
