I think we should not specify, alpha or beta, or add notes in Extra that show what does different main sources say :
1. AMBOSS doe NOT specify that , see peripheral blood smear findings : https://next.amboss.com/us/article/tT0Xs2?q=thalassemia
2. FA24, P420 : does NOT specify. And the target cell finding is mentioned with the alpha thalassemia section P424 and with beta thalassemia major P 425.
3. Pathoma 23, P44 : mentions the target cells finding with beta thalassemia and it not mentioned with alpha.
