Rationale for change
The hyponatremia that can develop in DKA is a true hyponatremia. Pseudohyponatremia refers to a lab error due to high lipids or proteins. In the case of DKA Na+ can actually decrease in the body due to the osmolar effect of glucose, which dilutes the Na+. The Amboss article of DKA also mentions hyponatremia and not pseudohyponatremia.
