- American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends screening with lipid panel between the ages of 9 and 11 and again between 17 and 21
- More frequent screening are recommended for abnormal results and based on ASCVD risk assessment, especially for adults 40 - 75 y/o
- USPSTF no longer has recommendations for lipid screening in adults, see Archived: Lipid Disorders in Adults Screening
- This card used to state begin at 40 y/o based on USPSTF recommendations "Statin Use for the Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease" but per AMBOSS and 2019 ACC/AHA guideline screening recommendations are from 20 - 75 years old (Nov 2024)
