Rationale for change
Adding "can" makes it seem less like this is the ONLY mechanism by which gastrin stimulates H+ secretion from parietal cells.
Per Amboss, gastrin may increase H+ secretion (from parietal cells) either through direct stimulation of their CCKb receptors, or indirectly through stimulation of ECL cells, which release histamine that stimulates parietal cells through a paracrine mechanism.
