Rationale for change
Some grammatical changes.
The last sentance stated binding 2,3 BPG causes HG to be "useless". This is a lofty clame and not correct. It lowers the affinity for oxygen on that HG, causing more offloading of oxygen to target tissues at a macro level. As the HG, with a lowered affinity, binds oxygen when returning to the lungs, the partial pressure of oxygen being high, oxygen will be able to bind to HG, causing a conformational change that forces the 2,3 BPG out of the inner HG pocket, raising the affinity of HG to oxygen. Further allowing oxygen to bind oxygen to all 4 subunits.
